Barbara Ann Corcoran

Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on March 10, 1949. She is an American investor as well as a speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group, an NY-based real estate broker was started by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the business. Corcoran, one of ABC's first Shark investors was a featured guest of every episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals as of February 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment that will pay for 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second in the family of 10 children and was raised in Edgewater. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's early years. The family relied on free food deliveries from the local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who would drink often and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran struggled in school, and was later told that she was dyslexic. Corcoran started the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a degree in English after having failed several classes during her freshman years.
